PTO Board & Meetings
The Board
The PTO Board is comprised of Southwest Junior High parents and the school principal. The parents assume responsibility for specific jobs over the course of the year. Volunteers for board positions are recruited in the spring.
Interested parents should call the current PTO President or watch for the annual PTO Volunteer Form that is sent home with students in the spring. The PTO officers are the President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. New officers are elected each spring for the following school year.
Meetings
PTO meetings are held six times a year, usually on a Thursday, and alternate between morning and evening. Meetings often include speakers or a forum and are open to the SWJH community. Meeting dates and times are published in the SWJH website. Topics and times are announced in the SWJH website and posted on the school calendar.
The PTO coordinates many enrichment programs, organizes fund raisers, and plans several community events at SWJH . All events serve to enhance a child's experience while at SWJH . Funds raised sponsor programs allow for the purchase of curriculum support materials.
