Hello Students!  This is our last week together....unless you 7th graders promoting to 8th grade would like to do summer school!!!!
As always, you will watch a video and do some very short reading.  This week there are NO questions to answer, and I even included some pictures!!!!!

Tribes of the World

Hello Students!
This week you'll be reading about some interesting indigenous tribes from around the world.  Think about the other indigenous people we read about this year, and take  note of any similarities .  Do you know that at least 100 isolated tribes currently exist in the world?!  EXTRA CREDIT:     FIND ANOTHER INDIGENOUS TRIBE AND SEND ME THEIR NAME !

Hello Students!  This week you'll be learning about the Vikings. I bet most of you have seen the movies about Thor, but there is much more to know about these people!  Remember, you need to send me an e-mail comment about these assignments DAILY!  Also, don't forget about our ZOOM meetings on Mondays at 2. Monday Look up Scandinavia on a map, and then Read Vikings Day 1       Activity:  Write your name using the Viking Alphabet
Tues:       Watch the Video  and Read along .  According to the video, why did the Vikings raid villages?  What were their beliefs about bravery and honor?
Wed.        Read Leif Erikson and answer the embedded questions.  Did Leif explore what is now the United States??????  Use a map!
Thurs.      Read Vikings Gods and Myths   Do you see any similarities between the Vikings' beliefs and the Ancient Greeks?????
Fri.           Watch Video 2                      Pay attention to what happens to the Vikings after the introduction of Christianity.  What conclusions can you draw about the impact of Christianity

Hello Students! 
This week you'll be reading about Tibet and Nepal, and viewing some videos about village life and the mysterious Sky Caves in Nepal.  They might remind you of the Cliff Dwellings and Machu Pichu that we read about earlier in the year.  Send me an e-mail to share your thoughts about this week's work!
 Objectives: 1) I will be able to use maps, videos, images, and text to expand my background knowledge about important ancient civilizations (Tibet/Nepal) in order to increase my knowledge of the world and enhance my comprehension.2) I will learn what the references "Shangri-La" and "Utopia" mean, and read about the terms origins so that I will understand the terms meanings when seen in other contexts.

Hello Everyone!  This week you'll be learning about some very interesting and puzzling structures that exist in the world.
 
The Objective:  I will be able to use maps, videos, images, and text to expand my background knowledge about important ancient structures in order to increase my knowledge of the world and enhance my comprehension.
 
You will be able to view videos, look up images, and do a little reading. I have added the youtube websites for Easter Island and Stonehenge.  Continue to stay safe.  I will be calling you sometime this week during school hours.  Please let your parents know who I am! 
 
Monday:  Search the internet to locate Easter Island on a map, then look for images of the Moai.
Tuesday:  Read:  Easter Island and answer the questions.  Don't forget to cite evidence from the text!
Wed.        View the video of the Walking Moai
Thurs.      View this funny 5 minute video about the history of Stonehenge, then find its location on a map
Fri.            Read "Stonehenge", and answer the 4 questions.  As you read, ask yourself  "which medium (video or text) provided the most complete information about Stonehenge?"
